Marine Vet receives New Roof for Free

Neighborhood Roofing Installs a New Roof for Marine Vet through the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project & Habitat for Humanity

Giving back to the community has always been a part of Neighborhood Roofing’s business model. We are always honored to take part in the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project. It’s our way to say ‘thank you’ to a local military family and connect with one of our country’s heroes. Owens Corning in partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Western Wayne County has made this new roof install possible. Owens Corning donates the material and we donate the labor.

Marine Veteran, Don Maurer whose roof was leaking and had rotted wood received a new roof in Belleville. "Man, this is awesome. Couldn’t ask for a better Thanksgiving, really. It’s really a great thing!" Don Maurer said.

"I think you’ve got to give back. You’ve got to do your part. We’re big into that," said Tom Meadows, Owner of Neighborhood Roofing.

The repair came just in time because the condition of the roof would have caused leaks over winter leading to extensive damages.

The Housing Assistance Council says more than 80% of Michigan veterans own homes. Nearly 83,000 of those veterans live in homes with one or more major repair problems.
